We opened in 1994. At that time the only cooks were my husband, Fran and my son, Art . We had a lot of Flamingo’s on the walls as well as clocks. We were open 7 days a week then. We have slowly grown through the years. In 2020, because of illness we had to close. We were closed for a year and a half. My son had to get a job somewhere else because of such a long closure and this we understand. We reopened again on September 23, 2021 for 4 days a week per doctors advice. We remodeled a lot. No more flamingos… just a lot of clocks. Over the years we have made a lot of year round community friends and have built friendships with summer residents from everywhere. We have enjoyed watching a lot of families grow and feel lucky that they still come in to visit.
Fran is known for his homemade soups, kielbasa hash, homemade benedict sauce and hot lunch with real mashed potatoes (a customer once said the potatoes made him gain 10 lbs.). One of his latest specialties includes a housemade waffle with lemon topping. For years people have come in for Fran’s fresh fruit plate or grits and beans. Fran tries to put forth high quality food for the public. He refuses to skimp on anything. Our eggs are jumbo; our English muffins are sandwich size Thomas’s English muffins; our bread is Pepperidge Farms; our fresh rolls are delivered daily from Apicella Bakery. We serve locally made New Haven Lamberti’s sausage. To end your meal, try one of Fran’s homemade desserts. He always uses the freshest ingredients he can find to serve to our customers. Stop in for a breakfast, brunch or lunch. Fran won’t disappoint.
